Marty sent me this update on Bob's recovery.

Today is Bob's 7th day in the hospital. In the last few days, since he's been out of ICU, he's had 2 units of blood, iron, doctor's concern about his glucose count and the kidney doctor has been to see him a couple of times.

As of this morning, though, things are looking up. While I was at the hospital on my first visit today, the nurse took out the 2 leads that monitored his heart. That was painful but quick. I didn't stay long on the first visit.

5 p.m. and I just returned from my second visit where I found Bob was up walking around for the 3rd time today. Great! Then he wanted to play "500 Rummy" (our favorite card game together). Fortunately we finished the game just as he was getting tired again and I was afraid of getting in rush hour traffic. It's normally a 25 minute drive except for Tuesday when we had a terrible storm during my whole trip home which not only took 45 minutes but made all my joints (real ones and tissue around the metal ones) ache. Heart surgeon said Bob might be able to come home tomorrow. Then the 4 of us need time to hide in our little cocoon and rest.
