Z Scale Wonder

Although it was the National N-scale Convention in Louisville late last month and there were over 700 N-scale modules, to me the most impressive modules I saw were part of a Z-scale layout from Texas. Given the scale, the workmanship was unbelievable, almost a work of art in some cases. I've attached a few pictures for your enjoyment. I'm not much of a photographer, so I hope you get a sense of what I saw.

Re: Z Scale Wonder

It is amazing what can be accomplished in such a small scale.

You can also model with detail an entire railroad that has gone belly up and sold off all motive power and rolling stock. This sale must have included free delivery as there isn't even the remnant of an RR car anywhere on any track.

That's because it was Saturday night about 9:00 pm in the convention hall, and only a few die-hard N-Trakers were still running trains after the day's train show...

All the Z-scale stuff was safely tucked in bed, dreaming about the miles of track they would be running on the next day.

There were at least three security guards walking around, and even then it was a wise move to store the engines and rolling stock.

After all, there were some unsavory characters walking loose in the hall...

See the second photo in the "Any N-Scale Convention Reports?" thread to see a few of the roughest ones eating at a table and planning their latest caper...

I'll Photoshop some trains into the pix if it will make you happy, Bruce!

-Phil
