Snow Plowing Info and other UP Stuff

A member of the Atlas bulletin board posted an interesting link that allows you to follow a Union Pacific rotary snow plow. Apparently they have installed a gps tracking system on board. I saw a news clip the other night about the latest midwest snow trouble and they showed a rotary getting ready for duty. May have been the same one that can be tracked. That was one big chunk of rotating blades and cold have been the one that the folloiwng link tracks:

This link will also lead you to a wealth of UP public information that includes current steam rosters, photos, facilities, history, etc. Want to read a bit about the history of their turbines? Summary information is there to be had.

Have fun!
