A Horn Honking Day
First off I must say I did miss my hearing protection. Last year the engine of choice used to test run and sound off with the various horns was an RS1. This year they used a GP30. People from across the country were here with every assortment of train horns I could hardly imagine. Each in turn would have their units mounted on the engine (about a two minute job). The engine would backup out of sight and do a driveby (20 mph?) with horns blaring and blaring, and blaring, ... . This would be repeated for each horn set. Also, parked on an adjacent siding were the RS1 and a pair of C-420's(?).
