Railroad Museum Annual Horn Honk!
On Friday and Saturday, September 25-26, the Southern Appalachian Railroad Museum (SARM) will host the Sixth Annual Locomotive Air Horn Collectors meet adjacent to the East Tennessee Technology Park near Oak Ridge, TN. This activity, the largest event of its type in the United States, is attended by representatives from various railroads, horn builders/re-builders, and collectors from around the country and Canada.
During the meet, vehicle and train traffic will be heavier in the SARM area near the corner of Burchfield and Connector Roads. SARM will also be operating charter train trips each evening, departing from the Connector Road area between 6 and 7 pm. Please use extra caution if driving in the SARM area during the the meet.
This is a free event for the casual visitor to watch and hear the real thing go by on a one-to-one scale engine!
