TATeRs Rule

Our fellow N-scaler Phil Brooks has enlightened us with another published article. The Jan-Feb 2009 publication of N-scale Railroading has his article on the design and construction of a TATeR (toggle actuated turnout rig). Note that aspects of this design may be used in our new traveling show layout to enable remote manual switching and power routing.

You all know what I first visualized when I saw the article title...;)

We need to get "Spuds" MacKenzie to be our sponsor...

(Sorry, couldn't resist an "a-peeling" joke.)

Thanks for the digital High-Five, Bruce! :D

I realized today that it was kind of rude of me to talk about something online that club members would have no idea what we're talking about.

So... to include everybody in the joke, here is a photo of the subject in the article. I call it the TATeR (Toggle-Actuated Turnout Rig).

It is basically a way to link a DPDT toggle switch to throw turnouts and route power to the frog.

To see details of how to build it, look in the Jan-Feb 2009 N-Scale Railroading magazine.

Y'all have fun,

-Phil :D
