Re: Hobby Shops
i like hobby town usa because from what i can tell they are very good. i haven't been to hobbylobby but my dad has and he says HT is better (hobby town =HT) but nothing can beat the hobby shop in R.I. they had EVERY thing and it was cheap. u know some people should get together and make an awsome hobby shop in T.N. like we all say how the ones in our home towns r. ;)

Re: Hobby Shops
Hobby Town may be the best that I've seen locally at this time. We lost a good shop a few years ago between Knoxville and Oak Ridge (Tennessee Model Hobbies). Hobby Lobby does carry some train stuff most notable is Woodland Scenics landscaping materials and they periodically have sales on these items. I've been told that there is a new shop on on Mainardville Pike in N. Knoxville but I have not been to it. A web search should pop it up for you.
Note that KAMR Club members are eligible for a 10% discount at Hobby Town as noted in another thread on this web site. |
Re: Hobby Shops
well when and if u go to the "new" shop can u tell us about it so we have a point of refrence before going to drive out there please?

Re: Hobby Shops
I talked to the guy at Paul & Bec's Hobbies & Trains, 6705 Maynardville Pike Knoxville, TN 37918-5308 (865) 922-0856. They have HO and N scale. They have everything you need concerning these scales. They have engines, buildings, completes sets, and scenery. I thought I would pass this along. They hours of operation depend on the day of the week so call them before you go there.
